Cake Decorating Class:
Took this class at the end of February with my friend Rose who was 9 months pregnant at the time. Everything went fine until the end of class, on our way out - after two hours of decorating, Rose dropped her cake on the street! Thank goodness the box was taped shut so well - she just made it into a tye-die cake when she got home :) Making lemonade out of lemons...
Last few snow storms...we had a big one recently, in March - and it was so pretty - the way the snow had fallen, it landed beautifully on the trees. These were taken on my walk to and from work:
Finally, there was awful news on Monday morning when we got up that a CTA (El) train had crashed at O'Hare. Apparently, the driver fell asleep (the crash happened at 2:50am) and the train jumped the "bumper" at the end of the track, and catapulted up over the end of the track, and into the escalator. The image is eerie- this is the route we take to get to the airport, so it is very familiar. Thank God it was so early in the morning, otherwise there would have been people on the stairways and escalator that would have been seriously hurt. Unbelievably no one was seriously hurt in this accident. There is a reason I try not to be in the first or last carts, and here is why:
